Sydney's First Day of School!

Today was Sydney's very first day of school! She was very excited when I told her this morning that she was going to school, just like Emerson. She spent about four hours there today and they said she was perfect. She drank her whole bottle, took two short naps and giggled and smiled at her new teachers. Hopefully, she'll be just as good tomorrow!

Go Panthers!

While I was gone in San Fran, Will took Emerson to the first Panthers pre-season game. I had taken the camera with me to San Fran, so he didn't have a chance to take any pictures, but he said she had a great time. This past weekend was another pre-season game and we had extra tickets. We asked Emerson if she wanted to go again and she said, "YES!" Once again, she had a great time. After tailgating for a while she kept saying, "I'm ready to go to the Panthers game now." When we finally made it into the stadium, Emerson riding on Daddy's head, was just giggling away. She cheered very hard, yelling "Go Panthers", talked to everyone sitting behind, in front and next to us, tried some cheerleading moves and then towards the end of the second quarter said, "Mommy, I'm ready to go home now." We had a blast!

Emerson knows exactly where to go to get Daddy a beer!

"Mommy, you need one too?"
(I have to teach her that us girls only drink lite!)

San Francisco Girls Trip!

August has been a busy month! It started with a trip to San Francisco for me and four of my high school friends. We went to visit Brooke and Dave who have lived in San Fran for 1.5 years. Will and I went out to visit them last September, but at the time I was 7 weeks pregnant, so I was looking forward to a non-pregnant trip. We had a fantastic time! Brooke is the ultimate hostess and had a fun filled itinerary planned. I say planned, because it seemed we could not stay on track and always had to call to push back our dinner reservations and then eventually to cancel. Regardless, we had a GREAT time and can't wait for another girls weekend!

Brooke decorated their apartment for our arrival!

Toasting our arrival!

Just Like Mommy!

We really have to be careful about the things we say and do these days. Emerson is copying everything and often says she's "just like mommy." She comes home from school and the first thing she does is take off her crocs or tennis shoes to put on her flip flops, just like mommy. She also has her own makeup bag under my sink so she can put on her makeup, just like mommy. Below are two more things she likes to do just like mommy.

Emerson calls this, "driving on mommy's big wheel."

Going shopping, just like mommy!

We know it won't be long before Sydney wants to do everything, just like Emmie!

Summer Weekend

This past weekend was a laid back summer weekend. Saturday afternoon we went to a one year old birthday party and then had some friends over for dinner. Sunday morning Emerson and I went to church and then we went to the pool Sunday afternoon. While I was getting dressed for church, Will took some pictures of the girls.

I love my little sis!

Emerson decided to show off her many looks.

So Happy!

Lil' Sparkler

We had a great 4th of July weekend! We headed out to Will's family lake house for the night of the 4th for dinner and fireworks. Emerson had a great time playing with Jackson and Taylor.

Sydney was not as happy. She will not sleep anywhere but in her crib at home. So, I had to hold her the entire time we were there. Even then, she wouldn't really sleep as you can see in the picture!

The highlight of the night was the sparklers. Emerson absolutely LOVED them!

We had planned on spending the rest of the weekend at the pool, but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead, Emerson enjoyed painting, playing with playdough and dressing up in her Cinderella outfit.

YaYa and Poppy Joe Visit

Last weekend YaYa and Poppy Joe decided to come for a quick day visit. It had been three weeks since they had seen Emerson and Sydney and they weren't scheduled to see them for another three weeks. So, they arrived around 11am and stayed until 7pm.

The weather was beautiful and we were able to spend the day at the pool. It was actually Sydney's first time at the pool. She wasn't able to get in the water yet, but hopefully by the end of the summer.
